Three things to watch for when the New England Patriots take on the Chiefs | New England Patriots
The New England Patriots head to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football in Week 4. At 2-1 the Patriots are tied for first place in the AFC East with the Buffalo Bills, but their offense has been mediocre to date. By yards per game, the Patriots are 27th, with just over 301 yards per game. However, they are dead last in yards per play with a paltry 4.3 yards per offensive play.
The stats on offense are just not good through three games: The Patriots are 27th in the league in passing yards, with 589 yards; net yards gained per passing attempt (factoring in sacks and negative yardage) finds New England 30th in the NFL; and even rushing the ball sees the Patriots in the bottom half of the statistics as they are 22nd in total yards rushing with 315 yards in three games and 26th in yards per attempt at 3.5 yards per attempt.
Beyond the statistics, the offense simply does not pass the eye test...
