Week thirteen of the 2025 NFL season is in the books and the NFL season is kicking into gear as we turn the corner into the final quarter of the season.
Last week saw three games on Thanksgiving and a Black Friday game with the Lions, Chiefs, Ravens and Eagles all seeing their playoff chances take a hit with losses. The Rams lost, and the “what a difference a month makes” Colts dropped another. The 49ers and Dolphins beat really bad teams and Jacksonville and Tampa won against inferior opponents.
All hail the Jets who beat the Falcons, improving the first round draft pick they’re sending to the Rams. I think Minnesota had a “Nathan Peterman” experience with their third-string quarterback in getting shut out by the Seahawks. The Bills ran all over the Steelers and the Chargers crushed the Raiders.
The AFC elite franchises were playing in prime time. Sunday night had the Broncos, in overtime, holding off the Commanders for their ninth straight win. Meanwhile, New England and Drake “Drake Maye” Maye let the nation go to bed early jumping out to a 30-7 halftime lead on Monday Night football as they cruised to their tenth consecutive win.
Now onto this week’s games to see if we can top the entertainment level in week thirteen.
Thursday Night Football features the Lions and Cowboys on their back-to-back Thursday games after their traditional hosting on Thanksgiving.
Sunday afternoon in the early window has the Seahawks in Atlanta, Joe Burrow and the Bengals in Buffalo to face Josh Allen, the Commanders and Vikings, the Colts in a must win against the Jaguars, the Dolphins at the Jets, the “who wants to win the AFC North?” bowl with the Steelers at the Ravens and finally the Saints going to Tampa to take on Baker and company.
The later window has just three games with the Broncos in Vegas, the Rams in the desert, and the 100 Year War continuing with the Bears headed to the frozen tundra to face the Packers with first place on the line in the NFC North.
Sunday Night Football features the best defense in the NFL facing Patrick Mahomes playing behind an offensive line missing three starters. The week wraps up on Monday Night Football with the World Champion Eagles trying to get back on track versus the banged up Chargers.
