Friday night saw the New England Patriots take on the Carolina Panthers in preseason game three as the starting units got a longer look under the lights. With a 30-7 victory, all three units had a strong showing: the offense was putting up points with all three quarterbacks leading scoring drives; the defense had a shutout going most of the game with Carolina’s third-string offense finally getting on the board late in the game; and finally the special teams unit got a big showing in the kicking game as Stephen Gostkowski booted field goals from 47, 60, and 21 yards.
